Pie in the sky

千萬不要一個字一個字直譯成 draw a big pie，英文裡的類似說法是：pie in the sky。

All your plans are pie in the sky. None of them is workable.

你所有的計劃都是空談、畫大餅，無一可行。

2.空中樓閣

A castle in the air/sky

英文的說法幾乎可以直譯：a castle in the air/sky。

在空氣中建造城堡，基本上是不可能的任務，因此用來指只存在於幻想中的事物。

You are no longer young. Please stop building castles in the air and keep your feet on the ground.

你已經不再年輕了，請停止空想，腳踏實地一點。

3.空頭支票

Rubber Check or Bad Paper

比喻不會實踐的承諾，英文裡則說那是rubber check或bad paper。

Candidates of conscience will not write rubber checks to win the election.

有良知的候選人不會爲了勝選而開空頭支票。

The new CEO mentioned the company's potential and future direction. In my opinion, he was just giving us bad paper.
